NSW Sexual Violence Helpline

(Formerly NSW Rape Crisis)

NSW Sexual Violence Helpline is for:

  • Anyone in NSW who has experienced sexual assault, recently or in the past.
  • Family members or other supporters of anyone who has experienced sexual assault, recently or in the past.
  • Others who have been impacted by this violence, including professionals.

Our service provides:

  • Professional trauma specialist counsellors
  • Telephone and online support
  • Information and referrals to other services
  • Vicarious trauma support and debrief (for professionals including police and journalists)

We can assist with:

  • Managing the impacts of sexual assault
  • Talking to family and friends
  • Information on reporting to the police
  • Information on accessing medical help
  • Referrals to other services who can help


National Sexual Abuse and Redress Support Service

(Formerly Sexual Assault Counselling Australia)

Free telephone and face to face counselling for people impacted by institutional child sexual abuse.

Our Sexual Abuse and Redress Support Service is for:

  • Adults who experienced sexual assault in childhood and are involved in, or impacted by, the National Redress Scheme resulting from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
  • Supporters of anyone who has been impacted by institutional child sexual abuse, including parents and professionals

Our service provides:

  • Professional trauma specialist counsellors
  • Telephone and face to face support
  • Information and referrals to other services that can help

We can assist with:

  • Managing the impacts of childhood sexual assault
  • Accessing the National Redress Scheme for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse
  • Setting up face to face counselling with our own counsellors in NSW, or referring callers to face to face counselling services in other states
  • Assistance and counselling for those who are incarcerated

Rainbow Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Helpline

(Formerly LGBTIQ+ Violence Service)

The Rainbow Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Helpline is for:

  • Anyone in Australia who is from the LGBTQIA+ community who has recently or in the past experienced sexual domestic or family violence
  • Family members, friends and supporters of someone from the LGBTQIA+ community who has experienced sexual domestic or family violence
  • Others who may be impacted by violence targeted toward the LGBTQIA+ community, including professionals

Our service provides:

  • Professional trauma counselling provided by counsellors who have completed specialist training provided by ACON
  • 24/7 telephone support
  • Information and referral to other services
  • Vicarious trauma support and debrief for professionals

We can assist with:

  • Managing the impacts of sexual domestic and family violence
  • Talking to supporters
  • Information about seeking assistance from Police
  • Information on medical help
  • Safety planning
  • Referrals

Healing and Recovery for Survivors (HeRS) Counselling Program

Full Stop Australia specialist counsellors provide medium to long-term counselling for women who have experienced any form of sexual abuse or sexual assault during childhood up to 16 years of age at Women's Health Centres throughout NSW. The counselling is free and in some centres, childcare is available.
