Training: introduction to vicarious trauma (e-learning)

Vicarious trauma refers to the detrimental impacts suffered by people who are indirectly exposed to traumatic material. This may include workers who are exposed to traumatic events, such as:
- hearing about incidents of abuse, violence, torture, or neglect from those who have had that experience, or
- witnessing the trauma experienced by others.
This interactive online workshop will provide individuals with:
- An understanding of the concept of vicarious trauma;
- Skills in recognising the general impacts of vicarious trauma;
- An overview of evidence-based strategies to manage (or offset) the impacts of vicarious trauma.
This program is self-directed. Participants can exit and resume their place at any time provided they resume using the same device.
A printable certificate of participation is provided upon successful completion and an evaluation report for organisations.

Our training approach
Full Stop Australia trainers are social workers, psychologists, and educators. They are experienced trainers in causes, consequences and primary prevention of sexual, domestic and family violence.
All facilitators are trained to safely and compassionately respond to disclosures and refer onward to state based services.
All training programs are audited regularly to ensure the information provided is evidence-based and current.
Programs can be tailored based on the needs of each organisation and can be delivered to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
