Event description

When someone discloses experiencing sexual, domestic or family violence, your response is critical to their recovery and decisions about what to do next.

This facilitated and interactive three-hour workshop will provide you with a framework to provide a compassionate and supportive response to people who have experienced domestic, family or sexual violence.

Open the door to referral pathways and support services

Full Stop Australia’s Responding with Compassion workshop is for anyone who may receive disclosures.

Through this workshop, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of sexual, domestic and family violence in Australia (through statistics and key definitions)
  • Discuss the myths and realities of this violence and understand how these act as barriers for reporting
  • Identify how perpetrators use power and control
  • Understand the societal and individual impacts of sexual, domestic, and family violence
  • Learn how to support someone who has been impacted by violence and what support services are available
  • Receive information about how to identify and address vicarious trauma

Every participant will receive a digital participant information pack and a certificate of completion.

All Full Stop Australia education and training sessions are trauma-informed and provide a safe and supportive learning context. Facilitators are qualified and highly experienced to deliver the evidence-based content.
